hugo-docs was added 2026-07-08 (7bbdcf5) with no recorded plan. Its jfraeys/docs repo returns 404, so the live container has only ever served Hugo's built-in placeholder (7 pages, Hugo 0.111.3). The image, klakegg/hugo, is abandoned and carried 55 CRITICAL findings in the 2026-10-13 trivy report. The official gohugoio/hugo image has none, but migrating it means rewriting the entrypoint and fixing the ananke theme (broken on current Hugo) for a site with no content, so it is removed instead.

Removed:

hugo-docs compose service and files/hugo-entrypoint.sh (+ its copy task)
docs_hostname var, the Forgejo extra_hosts entry
the staging /etc/hosts entry and the two docs TLS-warmup tasks in playbooks/services.yml
doc mentions (forgejo CLAUDE.md, update-and-patch-policy, FUTURE_IMPROVEMENTS)

Not removed: the *.git DNS wildcard (covers any Forgejo subdomain).

After deploy: docker compose up -d does not remove orphans, so the forgejo-hugo-docs-1 container and /opt/forgejo/hugo-entrypoint.sh stay on services until removed by hand.
