    forge-agent v0.1.0

First release. An early release, not a stability declaration: until 1.0 the external contract (MCP tools
and schemas, CLI JSON, error codes, revision format) may change in a minor version.

forge-agent is a stateless CLI and MCP server that gives coding agents safe, verifiable issue mutations on a
Git forge. The forge is the only source of truth: no database, cache, daemon, telemetry or state files.

    • Ten tools over MCP and the CLI: get_issue, update_issue, create_issue, list_issues, comment_issue,
      issue_context, project_context, pr_context, git_context and next_work.
    • Mutations are validated, revision-checked, planned, dry-run or applied, and verified by a final read.
    • Tested providers: Forgejo 16.0 and Gitea 28.0 (a pinned Forgejo development build stands in for codeberg.org).
    • Agent evaluation baseline: 17 of 17 tasks pass, median 2 tool calls, tool definitions cost about 2,300 input
      tokens per session.

Release archives are static, for linux, macOS and Windows on amd64 and arm64, and reproducible: building the
tagged commit with go run ./dev release gives the same SHA256SUMS.

Verify a download: import docs/release-key.asc, check the fingerprint
    56FA E156 8DE3 CCBB DFFF 9EA7 15AF 3C4C 2B55 C86C, then
    gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc SHA256SUMS and shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS --ignore-missing.
